Denden SC learn CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifier opponents
Eritrea’s Denden SC have been placed in a tough group ahead of the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers.
Denden SC who will be making their first appearance in the Zonal qualifiers where on Tuesday drawn against Kenya Police Bullets FC (Kenya) and Kampala Queens FC (Uganda) to be placed in Group A.
In the draw conducted by CECAFA Competitions Manager, Yusuf Mossi in Nairobi, defending champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC, were placed in Group B that will also have Rayon Sports WFC and Top Girls Academy (Burundi).
The qualifiers will take place September 4-16th at the Nyayo Stadium and Ulinzi Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
“We are happy that for the first time we shall also have a team from Eritrea playing in the qualifiers. This is a very good step,” said Mossi.
Harambee Starlets’ Esse Mbeyu Akida and Football Kenya Federation Member in-charge of Women’s Football, Kerubo Momanyi assisted Mossi in carrying out the draw.
The best team in each group together with the best second placed team will automatically qualify for the semi-final stage. The winner will qualify to represent the CECAFA Zone at the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025.
Group A: Kenya Police Bullets, Denden SC, Kampala Queens
Group B: CBE, Top Geirls Academy FC, Rayon Sports WFC
Group C: JKT Queens FC, Yei Joint Stars FC, JKU Princess FC
