Denden SC arrive in Nairobi ahead for Zonal CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers 2025
Eritrea’s top women’s team, Denden SC have settled in Nairobi, Kenya ahead of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers
All the nine teams have checked in ahead of the event slated for September 4-16th at the Nyayo and Ulinzi Stadiums.
“We are very happy to have Denden SC from Eritrea coming to play in this tournament for the first time. We now have all the teams here ready for the tournament to start on Thursday,” says the CECAFA Competitions Manager, Yusuf Mossi.
Denden SC who arrived in Kenya on Monday are placed in Group A alongside Kenya Police Bullets FC and Kampala Queens FC (Uganda).
The Eritrean champions will open their campaign against Kampala Queens on September 7th, and later face Kenya Police Bullets three days later.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia WFC are the defending champions of the Zonal competition.
The best team in each group together with the best second placed team will automatically qualify for the semi-final stage. The winner will qualify to represent the CECAFA Zone at the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025.
Group A: Kenya Police Bullets, Denden SC, Kampala Queens
Group B: CBE, Top Geirls Academy FC, Rayon Sports WFC
Group C: JKT Queens FC, Yei Joint Stars FC, JKU Princess FC
