In-form Denden SC win Eritrean Women’s Club Championship 2025

Denden Sports Club are the winners of the Eritrean Women’s Club Championship 2025.

The Denden team defeated Insurance 3-1 in the final played on Sunday at the Asmara Stadium.

Watched by a big crowd, the game started with both teams displaying high attacking intent.

Denden took the lead in the 56th minute through Adiyam Atoberhan, but Insurance quickly responded with Naami Okbay making it 1-1.

As the match progressed, Denden took control in the latter stages as Misgana Mehari netted a brace in the last nine minutes of the match to secure the victory.

In the play-off for third place Gejeret secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Zoba Debub, thanks to an outstanding performance by Yusra Ibrahim.

Gejeret broke the deadlock in the 35th minute when Yusra Ibrahim found the back of the net with a well-placed shot.

In the second half, Gejeret continued to exert pressure on Zoba Debub’s defense. Yolia Andom doubled the lead in the 61st minute with a stunning goal, which was later hailed as the goal of the tournament. Yusra Ibrahim sealed the victory in the 71st minute with her second goal of the match.

The Eritrean Women’s Clubs Championship 2025 that attracted 12 teams concluded with a colourful closing ceremony.
