Referee Diou appointed to handle Eritrea – Eswatini TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifier
The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has appointed Moussa Diou as the referee for the preliminary round of the AFCON 2027 qualifier between Eritrea and Eswatini.
Eritrea will host the Southern Africa team in the first leg at the Stade D’Honneur in Morocco on Wednesday.
He will be assisted by compatriots Brahim Salem H’made (Assistant Referee 1) and Adberrahmane Anne (Assistant Referee 2), while Abdel Kader M’Bareck will serve as the fourth official.
The match will be commissioned by Sekou Wieh Konneh from Liberia.
Hasham Yakan, Eritrea’s newly appointed coach has made it clear that his team is well prepared for the two matches. “We need to go all out and play a good game and get a positive result in the first leg,” added Yakan.
The winners in the preliminary stage will join other teams to battle in the group stage of the qualifiers.
Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will host the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
