Eritrea’s assistant referee Sirak Samuel selected to officiate U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt
Eritrea’s Sirak Samuel is among the assistant referees selected to officiate at the TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) selected referees, Assistant referees and VAR referees to officiate at the competition slated for April 27th to May 18th in Egypt.
The U-20 AFCON which will feature 12 teams including Tanzania and Kenya from the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) Zone was originally meant to take place in Cote I’Voire, but the West African nation withdrew.
Sirak Samuel has officiated many high profile matches organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The other match officials selected from the CECAFA Zone includes female referee from Uganda Shamirah Nabadda, includes Dickens Mimisa Mnyagrowa (Kenya), while Rwanda’s Salima Mukansanga and Yasir Abdelaziz Ahmed (Sudan) are among the 10 VAR referees. The other assistant referees are Ally Hamdani Said (Tanzania) and Burundi’s Fides Bangurambona.
