Referee Tsegay Teklu selected to officiate in TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship
Eritrea’s Tsegay Teklu Mogos is among the 26 referees selected to officiate at the Total Energies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025. The tournament to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will take place February 1-28th, 2025. Tsegay is among the top referees in Eritrea and has continued to officiate at several CAF matches.
He is among the four referees selected from the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Zone to officiate at the tournament meant for only players featuring in their respective home Leagues. The other referees selected from the CECAFA Zone include; Dickens Mimisa Nyagrowa (Kenya), Ahmed Arajiga (Tanzania) and Luky Razake Kasalirwe (Uganda).
Besides the referees the Confederation of African Football (CAF) also selected 25 assistant referees and 14 VAR assistants.
The tournament will bring together 19 teams with the four from the CECAFA Zone being Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Sudan.
