Eritrea, Niger settle for barren draw in International friendly encounter

The Red Sea Boys of Eritrea settled for a goalless draw in an international friendly against Niger played at the National Stadium of Asmara on Monday.

Coached by Ermias Twelde, the hosts supported by the passionate home fans created so many scoring opportunities, but failed to make them count.

The Niger team also preparing for the forthcoming TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) also had some good chances at goal, but were not sharp enough.

“I am happy that we played an International match at home today after many year and I thank the fans for coming in large numbers to support the team,” said Twelde after the match.

Eritrea was hosting an international match after five years since they last played a match at home in 2020.
