CECAFA President Paulos Andemariam arrives in Rwanda ahead of Kagame Cup 2026
The President of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA), Paulos Weldehaimanot Andemariam has arrived in Rwanda ahead of the regional CECAFA Kagame Cup 2026.
Rwanda will host the regional tournament from July 24th to August 7th in the capital Kigali.
Andemariam, also the President of the Eritrea National Football Federation (ENFF) was received at Kanombe International Airport by Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) official, Desire Niyitanga.
The tournament to arract 12 teams will start on Juy 24th with Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers SC facing Djibouti’s Gade Republicaine FC, while APR FC face Gor Mahia FC (Kenya) in th second Group A tie.
The regional tournament provides teams in the Zone with a platform to prepare ahead of the CAF competitions in the 2026/2027 season.
The tournament to climax on August 7th will see the champion bagging US$30,000, the runner up US$20,000, and the third placed team US$10,000.
