Weldehaimanot Andemariam set to contest for CECAFA Presidency

The President of the Eritrean National Football Federation (ENFF), Paulos Weldehaimanot Andemariam will contest to become President of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA).

Djibouti will host the CECAFA Elective General Assembly at the Djidouti Palace Kempinski on February 7^th, 2026.

Andemariam is among the three candidates who have submitted to contest for the CECAFA Presidency.

Jean Sseninde, the CECAFA Interim Executive Director said CECAFA has released the provisional list of candidates for the different positions.

The other candidates who will contest for the CECAFA Presidency include the Acting CECAFA President who is also the President of the Burundi Football Federation (BFF) and Moses Hassim Magogo, President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).

The 12 members of CECAFA include; Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Sudan and Zanzibar.
