AFCON qualifiers
We must focus on return leg in Eswatini – Coach Hasham Yakan
The head coach of Eritrea’s national Football team, Hasham Yakan has made it clear they are now focused on the return leg against Eswatini in the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.
The Red Sea Camels of Eritrea defeated Eswatini 2-0 in the first leg of the preliminary round played in Morocco on March 25th.
But coach Yakan has made it clear that they have now put aside the first leg win and focus is now geared towards the return leg to be played on Tuesday at the Somhlolo National Stadium, Lobamba, Eswatini.
“It is good we carry the advantage after winning the first leg. But we should now go and play the return leg like a Cup final because we shall be facing a team that will have the home support,” added the coach.
Team captain Ablelom Teklezghi made it clear before the team left Morocco for Eswatini on Friday that they are well prepared for the return leg.
Eritrea will be all out to try and seal a place to qualify for the group stage of the qualifiers.
Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will host the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
